Prishtina, 17 December 2013 – Experts on international issues have diminished almost every hope that visa liberalization for Kosovo citizens can happen in 2014, because the European Commission’s fact-finding mission is expected to publish the report on Kosovo meeting the visa liberalization criteria at the beginning of next year.
Executive Director at the Institute “Riinvest” Lumir Abdixhiku reminded the country’s prime minister, Hashim Thaçi on Monday, of the promises he made for visa liberalization. With his posting on Facebook, he has shown “prime minister’s evolution concerning the visa liberalization through the years”.
Hashim Thaci said in 2010 visa liberalization will happen in 15 months, while a year later he underscored that the year 2012 will be the year of the visa liberalization process. In 2012, he admitted that liberalization did not happen yet, but added that “we have declared 2013 as the year of liberalisation”, saying at the end the coming months are crucial for the visa liberalization process.
