Prishtina, 5 December 2013 – Kosovo Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi and Serbian PM, Ivica Dacic, will meet today in Brussels to discuss the implementation of the agreement for the normalization of relations between the two countries, reached on April 19 this year.
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Baroness Catherine Ashton, calls the meeting. The Prime Minister Thaçi said that the next meeting will discuss on accelerating the implementation of the agreement, the functioning of the Kosovo Police in the entire territory of Kosovo, justice system installation as per Kosovo legislation in that part of the territory, and operation of a unique system of customs and other issues.
According to Serbian authorities, main points of the meeting will be the operationalization of the association of Serb municipalities. Senior Serbian officials are claiming that this association of Serb municipalities to be established under the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, to be an independent part from the state of Kosovo, similar to Republika Srpska in Bosnia – Herzegovina.
