Prishtinë, 3 September 2013 – Starting from tomorrow, the OSCE will run a two-day seminar on understanding and preventing violent extremism and radicalization that may lead to terrorism.
Some 120 local and international participants, including experts and representatives of institutions and civil society, will discuss conditions conducive to the spread of violent radicalization, such as lack of access to education, political alienation and socio-economic marginalization.
The seminar will also explore how public-private partnerships and community policing can help to prevent and combat terrorism effectively.
Director of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo’s Department for Security and Public Safety, Duško Zavišić, Interior Minister, Bajram Rexhepi, and German Ambassador in Prishtinë, Peter Blomeyer, will speak at the event.
