Prishtina, 25 September 2013 – The Central Election Commission, during a meeting held yesterday afternoon, has assessed that 11.282 out of 39.940 applications sent by mail for voters abroad so far, have been verified, with only 276 approved by the CEC as regular, while 11.006 applications were rejected.
The applications include Serbian voters outside Kosovo who allegedly have increased and falsified figures which became the subject of discussion and criticism between CEC member from the Self-Determination Movement, Adnan Rrustemi, and the Head of the CEC, Valdete Daka.
Rrustemi accused Daka of accepting applications for voters abroad even beyond the set deadline, September 17, which was strongly opposed by Daka, who said that the CEC is doing its job and is carrying out the verification of all applications received.
