Prishtina, 29 October 2013 - Visa liberalization process is a continuous process and as such does not end with the visa liberalization but continues even after the visa and criteria are to be met even in the future, said on Tuesday, Besnik Vasolli, technical coordinator for visa liberalization, following a round-table, in which was introduced an analysis in regard to this process.
In a statement to KosovaLive360, he said that within the month of November it expected that an EC committee to assess progress on visa liberalization process and accelerate work on those areas where there is less progress.
According to him there is no end date as far as fulfilling the criteria for the visa liberalization.
During the round table, organized by the Kosovo Centre for Security Studies (QKSS) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) a report “The process of visa liberalization in the Western Balkans: A Comparative Analysis”, was presented, which concludes that Kosovo has met the criteria same way as other countries of the Western Balkans did, but it is disadvantaged in comparison with other countries and has started the process late.
