Prishtina, 21 January 2014 – Former President Ibrahim Rugova was honoured with tributes from various personalities of the political life of the country, on the eighth anniversary of death.
The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (Lidhja Demokratike e Kosovës – LDK), Isa Mustafa, along with other activists from the ranks of this party, paid homage at the grave of Ibrahim Rugova in Velania neighbourhood. Mustafa called Rugova founder of LDK and the originator of the independence of the Republic of Kosovo.
Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi, also paid homage at the grave of President Rugova, honouring his contribution in Kosovo’s state building.
President of Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (Aleanca për Ardhmërinë e Kosovoës – AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, former President of Kosovo, Fatmir Sejdiu, leader of Alliance New Kosovo (Aleanca Kosova e Re – AKR) Behgjet Pacolli, leader of Democratic Legue of Dardania (Lidhja Demokratike e Dardanisë – LDD), Nexhat Daci, and other personalities from political life, family members, and citizens also paid homage at the of Kosov’s historical president.
