Prishtina, 19 December 2013  - Kosovo balance of payments remains characterized by a current account deficit, which in the second quarter (Q2) of 2013 was 147.6 million euros, representing an annual increase of 4.2%.

This level of current account deficit caused mainly by the trade deficit, which until September 2013 recorded a decrease of 4.6 %, reaching 1.6 billion Euros, said the publication “Quarterly assessment of the economy” of the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK).

According to CBK, up to September 2013, total exports grew annually by 9.4 % and reached 224 million Euros, while imports declined by 3.0 % and reached 1.8 billion Euros.
