Prishtina, 26 December 2013  - Civil Society estimates that the Assembly of Kosovo should feel embarrassed and should not accept a budget discussion with the amendment to the privatization of 75 % share of Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo.

Kosova Democratic Institute expressed concern about the fact that the Government and Assembly of Kosovo are trying to repeat this year with the same situation as in 2011, introducing the report of the intergovernmental commission for the privatization of 75 % of the shares of PTK as a separate amendment within the Draft Budget for 2014. In order to protect legality and constitutionality in the country, KDI calls members of the Assembly not to adopt decisions with disputed legality and legitimacy, and create precedents for parliamentarism.

Other representatives of NGOs said that the government’s actions are contrary to the law on public enterprises, so they appeal to MPs to call conscience and reach consensus to stop legalizing the privatization of PTK together with the budget.
