Prishtina, 4 April 2014 – President  of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga, during a phone conversation with, director of the Office of South Central European Affairs at the Department of State, Jonathan Moore, said that Kosovo has shown courage and leadership in dealing with its past, and emphasized that Kosovo will continue to engage in efforts that uphold the rule of law.

President Jahjaga and Moore discussed the latest developments in Kosovo, and the creation of a Kosovo court.  The President and Mr. Moore discussed the importance of Kosovo demonstrating its credibility as a partner with the international community through an independent judicial process, and close a difficult chapter in Kosovo’s history.

President Jahjaga emphasized that Kosovo’s institutions have demonstrated their readiness to cooperate with international partners, and noted that this process is focused on individuals, and is not a judgment of the country’s collective efforts for liberation.
