Tirana, 23 January 2014 – Minister of Energy and Industry of Albania, Damian Gjiknuri stated that the construction of the interconnection line between Albania and Kosovo, is expected to be completed in late 2015. Project amounted to 75 million euros is financed by the German Government through KfW bank via development loans.
He noted that 400 kV interconnection lines Tirana-Prishtina integrates Albania into tge regional energy market and increases capacities needed for further development of trade and energy with Kosovo. A contract has been signed regarding this project, that has been delayed over the years, and the tendering procedures have been completed, as well as disbursement of money and insurance works on the ground.
Two companies from the region, “Dalekovod” from Croatia and “Energoinvest” from Bosnia, have begun preparations for the works on the ground for the construction of 400 kV interconnection lines between Albania and Kosovo.
