Prishtina, 1 October 2013 - Chief of Police Inspectorate of Kosovo (PIK), Fitim Shishani said that 161 police officers, among them 10 Serb and a Bosnian have been interrogated this year. According to him, 4 police officers were arrested and 11 suspended only because of corruption offenses.
“Out of 161 cases with criminal elements dealt with by PIK, 101 cases were forwarded to the competent prosecution offices, 43 cases were submitted with separate reports, while remaining number is still under investigation”, said Shishani, adding that during the period January to September 2013 were arrested 5 and suspended 32 police officers.
He has indicated that by the middle of October 15 new inspectors will be added to the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo.
