Prishtina, 30 December 2013    - Economic experts and business representatives have called Kosovo institutions to step up efforts to combat the informal economy.

They say taxpaying businesses have expressed concern about the high level of informal economy, which according to studies damaging Kosovo’s budget by over 30 percent per year.

A report of the Institute “Riinvest” published recently, provides data, which says that about 34 percent of Kosovo businesses not declare sales for tax purposes and over 34 percent of them hide workforce. From these data, according to the research, said the Kosovo budget loses a third of its power out of evasion and informality.
