Prishtina, 9 October 2013 - Chairman of the Government Committee on Missing Persons, Prenk Gjetaj, stated that the issue of missing persons should seek progress in the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. Gjetaj said that the Kosovar party should impose terms to Serbian side, even to condition continuation of the negotiations.
He was called yesterday at the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, Gender Equality, Missing Persons and Petitions to report and explain why since June they did not respond to the questionnaire drafted by the Commission.
In this committee meeting, chaired by Suzan Novobërdali, where the central subject was the implementation of the Law on Missing Persons, many criticisms were addressed to the Government of Kosovo because it has not conditioned the dialogue with Serbia in terms of starting it with the issue of missing persons. The government was criticized that it has misused the issue of missing persons just to legalize talks with Serbia.
